Middlebury College men's golfers Philippe Morin (Canton, Conn.) and Rodrigo Andrade (Guatemala City, Guatemala) have been selected to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PING Northeast All-Region Team. Morin was also named to the Division III All-Rookie Team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to the NESCAC Championship as well as a trip to the NCAA Championships.
Morin earned first-team All-NESCAC honors in the fall with a sixth-place finish at the NESCAC Qualifier (75-78). His best effort of the regular season came at the Williams Spring Invitational on April 23-24, shooting a 151 (73-78) to finish second among 48 golfers. Morin finished in a fourth-place tie at the NESCAC Championship this spring, carding a two-day total of 155 (75-80). He shot his best round of the season on day one of the NCAA Championships, coming in with a 72.
Andrade turned in one of his best performances of the season at the NESCAC Championship. He led wire-to-wire, shooting a 74 on the first day and a 77 during rainy play on day two to earn medalist honors. The junior combined for a two-day total of 151 three times this season, including a seventh-place finish (78-73) among 129 golfers at the Duke Nelson Tournament on September 19-20 in Middlebury and an 11th-place effort (75-76) at the ECAC Championship on October 10-11. He earned second-team All-NESCAC honors this fall with an 11th-place finish at the NESCAC Qualifier.
