  • Daly Named D3hoops.com All-American

    Middlebury College men’s basketball player Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) added another award following the conclusion of his career, earning a spot as a D3hoops.com Fourth-Team All-American. Earlier this month, Daly was named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III First-Team All-Northeast District selection and a D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First-Team recipient. The senior helped lead the Panthers to a 21-7 mark and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2017-18 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 147 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions
  • Daly Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-American

    Middlebury College men’s basketball player Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Men’s Basketball Third Team. Daly is just the 11th student-athlete in Middlebury’s history to achieve the accolade and the seventh since 2014. The senior helped lead the Panthers to a 21-7 mark and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. He is an economics major at Middlebury, currently boasting a 3.54 grade point average.

    Middlebury College men’s basketball player Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) has been named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III First-Team All-Northeast District selection by the organization. He has also been selected to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team. Daly helped lead the Panthers to a 21-7 mark and a berth in the NCAA Tournament’s sectional semifinal.
  • #18 Middlebury Edged by #19 MIT in NCAA Sectional Semifinals

    Middlebury had a late chance to tie MIT in the final seconds, but the Engineers held on for a 79-76 NCAA Tournament Sectional semifinal win on Friday in Ramapo’s Bradley Center. The 18th-ranked Panthers finish their season at 21-7, while MIT (25-5) advanced to Saturday’s sectional final and plays the winner of Friday’s second game between Franklin & Marshall and Ramapo.
  • NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team for each winter sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection. 
  • Men’s Basketball to Play in Ramapo (N.J.) Sectional

    The Middlebury men's basketball team will continue its NCAA Tournament when it takes part in a sectional hosted by Ramapo (N.J.). The Panthers (21-6) will play MIT (24-5) in a semifinal game on Friday, March 9 at 5:30 p.m., while the other matchup features the hosts from Ramapo (23-6) against Franklin & Marshall (22-6) at 7:30 p.m. The winners meet on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in an NCAA Sectional Final contest with a trip to the final four on the line.
  • Middlebury Tops Eastern Connecticut State to Win NCAA Regional

    A balanced scoring attack and a decided edge in rebounding lifted Middlebury to the Sweet 16 of the 2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament with an 83-58 triumph over host Eastern Connecticut State in Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium. The 18th-ranked Panthers (21-6) move into the third round of the tournament for the second-straight season, facing MIT at a site to be determined on Sunday. The other match-up in the sectional will be Ramapo taking on Franklin & Marshall. The 10th-ranked Warriors finish their season at 26-4.
  • Daly’s Triple-Double Leads Panthers Past Lebanon Valley in NCAA Tournament

    Middlebury's Jack Daly tallied his second triple-double of the season, leading the Panthers to an 83-63 victory Friday over Lebanon Valley in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The game was played in Eastern Connecticut State's Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium. Middlebury will play the 10th-ranked Warriors, a 75-59 winner over Johnson & Wales (R.I.), in Saturday's regional final at 7:00 p.m. The 18th-ranked Panthers improved to 20-6 with the victory, marking the eight time in the last 11 years the program has reached the 20-win plateau. The Dutchmen cap their season at 18-10.
  • Daly Garners First-Team All-NESCAC Honor

    Middlebury College men’s basketball player Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) has garnered a First-Team All-NESCAC selection. The senior picks up his first career postseason accolade. Daly and his teammates have a 19-6 record this season and will play Lebanon Valley in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend at a regional hosted by Eastern Connecticut State.
  • Men’s Basketball Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

    The Middlebury men’s basketball team will make its ninth trip in the last 11 years to the NCAA Tournament when it takes part in a regional hosted by Eastern Connecticut State. The Panthers (19-6) will play Lebanon Valley (18-9) in a first-round game on Friday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m., while the other matchup features the hosts from Eastern Connecticut State (25-3) against Johnson & Wales from Rhode Island (19-9) at 7:30 p.m. The winners meet on Saturday night in an NCAA Regional Final contest. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults, $5 for students/seniors and children under two are free.

    Middlebury men's basketball guard Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District I First-Team Academic All-District selection by the organization. The senior has guided the 18th-ranked Panthers to a 19-6 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the NESCAC this winter. The Panthers are awaiting to see if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
  • #13 Men's Basketball Falls in NESCAC Quarters to #17 Wesleyan

    Fifth-seeded Middlebury fell 73-65 at fourth-seeded Wesleyan in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game played in Connecticut. The Panthers see their record fall to 19-6 overall and will hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals (20-5) advance to next weekend’s NESCAC semifinal round.    
  • Men's Basketball Travels to Wesleyan for NESCAC Quarters

    Middlebury, the two-time defending NESCAC Men's Basketball Champions, will begin its quest for its fifth title in the program's history when it travels to Wesleyan for a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinal round next weekend at the highest remaining seed and the champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
  • Men’s Basketball Falls at Amherst, Daly Nets 1,000th Career Point

    Fifth-ranked Middlebury closed out the regular season with an 80-68 conference setback at Amherst on Saturday. Jack Daly became the 23rd Panther in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Middlebury (19-5, 7-3) finished in a five-way tie for first place in the NESCAC standings, and will unfortunately earn the fifth seed with a road quarterfinal contest next Saturday. The official seedings and pairings will be announced by the league on Sunday.
  • #5 Men's Hoops Suffers Road Loss at #15 Hamilton

    Fifth-ranked Middlebury saw its 11-game winning streak come to an end with a 102-81 loss at #15 Hamilton (20-2, 7-2) on Friday night. The Continentals now control their own destiny, as a win tomorrow against Williams would clinch the top seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. The Panthers (19-4, 7-2), currently tied for first with Hamilton, return to action on Saturday when they wrap up their regular season with a 3:00 p.m. tip at Amherst.
  • Hot Start Leads #5 Middlebury Past SUNY Canton

    Fifth-ranked Middlebury jumped out to a 27-6 lead over the first 10:38 of Tuesday’s opening half, cruising to a 79-57 road win at SUNY Canton (7-15). The win was the 11th-straight victory for Middlebury, who improves to 19-3 overall. The Panthers return to NESCAC action on Friday at #15 Hamilton with a 7:00 p.m tipoff.
  • Daly Sets Career Assists Mark as Panthers Control Second Half Against Colby

    Middlebury’s Jack Daly became the school’s all-time assists leader, as the sixth-ranked Panthers (18-3, 7-1) pulled away in the second half for a 75-56 win over Colby (10-12, 1-7). The victory was the 10th straight for Middlebury, which returns to action on Tuesday at SUNY Canton. The Mules return to the court next Friday when they host Wesleyan.
  • Majors' Last-Second Jumper Lifts #6 Middlebury Past Bowdoin

    A 15-foot jumper by Adisa Majors with five seconds remaining, lifted #6 Middlebury past Bowdoin (72-70) on Friday. The win is the Panthers’ ninth-consecutive victory. Middlebury (17-3, 6-1) will entertain Colby on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., while the Polar Bears (14-6, 3-4) travel to Williams for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.

  • #10 Panthers Break Single-Game Record for Free Throws Made In Win at Trinity

    The Middlebury men's basketball team made a program-record 41 free throws (41-51) on Sunday afternoon, earning an 87-81 NESCAC victory at Trinity (13-6, 2-4). The total eclipses the previous mark of 36 makes on December 3, 1958. Winners of seven-straight, the 10th-ranked Panthers (15-3, 5-1) return to action on Tuesday at Keene State beginning at 7:30 p.m.
  • Middlebury Picks Up Road Win at Pine Manor

    The Middlebury men's basketball team improved to 14-3 overall with an 87-62 win at Pine Manor (7-9) on Sunday afternoon. The win was the 350th at Middlebury for 21-year head coach Jeff Brown (350-192). The 16th-ranked Panthers are off until next Sunday when they visit Trinity for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
  • #16 Men’s Basketball Holds Off Late Charge by #11 Williams

    Middlebury utilized a 20-9 second-half run over a span of 6:56 and held off a late charge for a 70-66 NESCAC win over #11 Williams on Saturday in Pepin Gym. The 16th-ranked Panthers (13-3, 4-1) return to action tomorrow when they travel to Pine Manor at 2:00 p.m., while the Ephs (13-4, 3-2) host St. Joseph’s (Vt.) on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
  • #16 Middlebury Edges Albertus Magnus In Overtime

    The Middlebury men’s basketball team scored six of the final eight points in overtime, earning a 77-73 victory on Tuesday over Albertus Magnus in Pepin Gym. The 16th-ranked Panthers (12-3) wrap up their five-game homestand with a Saturday NESCAC matchup against #11 Williams at 3:00 p.m., while the Falcons (9-4) travel to Mount Ida on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Daly Named NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College men's basketball player Jack Daly (Eastchester, N.Y.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. The senior guard averaged 15.7 points, 9.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. He dished out a career-high 14 assists in a win over Morrisville State, while scoring a career-best 26 points during a victory against Bates, to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Daly added 16 points, going 8-9 from the foul line, seven rebounds and six helpers in a triumph over Tufts. He currently leads all of Division III with 8.8 assists per game.

    A 14-0 run spanning 7:07 in the second half propelled 16th-ranked Middlebury (11-3, 3-1) to a 78-63 NESCAC victory Saturday over Tufts in Pepin Gym.     The Middlebury men’s basketball team opened up NESCAC play on Friday evening with an 82-60 road win at Connecticut College (5-7, 0-1) in the Charles B. Luce Field House. The fourth-ranked Panthers (8-2, 1-0) rattled off a decisive 13-0 run in the first half during the win. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when it plays at 14th-ranked Wesleyan starting at 3:00 p.m.
