McKee is in his third year at Middlebury after being named the College’s first Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in December of 2013. As the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, McKee assists in the handling of all publicity for the school’s 31 varsity NCAA athletic teams. He also aids in the management of all media requests, while also maintaining the day-to-day operations of the office as well as the athletic department’s PrestoSports website which launched in the summer of 2014.

McKee is no stranger to the profession or Division III, serving as the assistant sports information director at numerous institutions, most recently for a two-year period at Case Western Reserve University. He has also spent time at Kenyon College, The College of Wooster and Christopher Newport University (Va.). At all four institutions that sponsored between 19 and 24 athletic teams, he was the primary contact for numerous varsity teams and helped manage all facets of sports information.

McKee has been a media relations staff member for nearly 40 NCAA Championship events spanning all three NCAA divisions, including many NCAA Tournament and Regional contests and matches since joining the staff at Middlebury. He has served as the main contact for the 2011 Division III men’s and women’s soccer first and second rounds as well as the 2012 Division III wrestling regional championship at Case Western Reserve.

Additionally, he served as the media relations contact for the 2012 University Athletic Association men’s and women’s Swimming & Diving Championships as well as the 2013 UAA men’s and women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship meet.

A native of Ashland, Ohio, and a 2003 graduate of Ohio Northern University, McKee’s career in sports information began as a student assistant at ONU, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in sport management along with a full minor in communication arts with a concentration in public relations.

He is an active member of both the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA) and is currently serving on the CoSIDA’s Goodwill and Wellness Committee as well as the Continuing Education Committee. In the past, he has also served on CoSIDA’s publications committee as a contest coordinator.
