  • Middlebury Finishes Fifth in Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings

    Middlebury has finished fifth among 329 colleges and universities that registered points in the 2017-18 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The Panthers earned their 15th-straight top-10 finish, winning the cup in 2011-12. Middlebury has also finished in the top five 17 times since 1995-96.
  • Erickson Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

    Middlebury College baseball pitcher Robert Erickson (Dallas, Texas) was one of 51 students recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences in the United States. The event was the 150th Phi Beta Kappa induction in Middlebury's history.

  • NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2018 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 131 representatives, the second-highest total in the conference.
  • NESCAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its Spring All-Sportsmanship Team for each spring sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.

  • Middlebury Announces Class of 2018 For Its Hall of Fame

    Middlebury College today announced its 2018 class of inductees for the Middlebury Athletics Hall of Fame. The fifth class to be inaugurated, this year’s group includes graduates representing four different decades, from as early as 1968 to as recent as 2003. The inductees combined to play 10 different sports at the College. One honoree is being recognized for his service as a longtime coach, while two have represented the United States at the Olympics.

  • College & Facilities Closed, Women's Basketball Game to Be Played

    Due to weather affecting the region, Middlebury College and all of its facilities are closed on Friday, January 5. However, Friday's women's basketball NESCAC home game against Connecticut College at 7:00 p.m. in Pepin Gym will take place as scheduled. Please check back for any further updates.
  • Happy Holidays From Middlebury Athletics

    The Middlebury College Department of Athletics would like to wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday season! The Panthers are idle until December 29 when the men's and women’s basketball teams return to action. The women travel to California for a 5:00 p.m. contest at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, while the men take on York (Pa.) at 4:00 p.m. in the Washington & Lee Tournament in Virginia. The calendar year concludes with the Middlebury men's hockey team hosting its annual Holiday Classic in Kenyon Arena on December 30-31, when the Panthers welcome Saint Michael’s, Oswego State and Neumann. Saint Michael’s and Middlebury play at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Oswego State and Neumann face off at 4:00 p.m. The consolation and championship game on Sunday will start at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively.

  • Athletics Hall of Fame Welcomes Seven New Members

    The Middlebury Athletics Hall of Fame inducted seven new members at a gala awards ceremony and dinner held on November 4, 2017, in Nelson Recreation Center. With more than 200 alumni, faculty, coaches, staff, friends, and family members in attendance, the ranks of Middlebury’s Hall of Fame grew to include 28 luminaries in the field of intercollegiate athletics.

  • Horris Joins Middlebury Athletic Training Staff

    Middlebury College has announced the hiring of Hannah Horris as an assistant athletic trainer. Horris comes to Middlebury from Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she held a similar position.
